If this water is cold, below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, then this is an added advantage, as your body will use up some calories, not many, but some, to warm the water to the temperature of your body. Every calorie burned is one less to turn into fat, so that is good!
Of course the foods that you choose to eat are extremely important, and you need to make sure that you are eating enough protein to help you reduce your stomach fat. Protein is found in meats, poultry and fish, but fatty meat is not recommended. Fish is, especially fatty fish like herring, salmon, mackerel and sardines. Carbohydrates are important foods to eat too, but you need to concentrate on the healthier ones like fruits and vegetables, not the ones that have been refined, like sugary desserts, or flour products.
Fruits and vegetables contain plant fibre which is good to eat, because it fills your stomach, but it also gets eliminated from your body, as it your body cannot digest this fibre. As it passes out of your body, the fibre will take with it some of the other food you have eaten, so that is good too.
So you need to be eating fruits and vegetables, bran, fish, low fat dairy products, whole grain foods, and low fat meat. By eating these foods, but in moderation, with smaller portions than you would normally have, you will start to lose that stomach fat that you so desperately want to disappear.
